Does Prayer Oil heal us?

My mom brought a prayer oil from a Christian missionary organisation. The prayer oil was prayed over by a GREAT man of God. We applied the prayer oil on my brother who is sick. But he was not healed. Does the prayer oil heal?

Answer.

The prayer oil never heals anyone. The prayer oil is a business trick used by many Christian preachers. They just bottle up coconut oils, olive oils and use the name of God and sell those bottles to to make business. They use a bible verse for this business.

Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord -James 5:14

Many ministers have started selling small bottles filled with oil (coconut/ paraffin/olive). The bottles are priced according to the type of oil used.

The oil bottles are then marketed as "Anointing Oil" and "Power oil" and certain Anointed preachers promote the oil bottles. Yes many buy these bottles with the hope of getting healed.

The power is not in the oil and neither in the prayer. The power is with the One who answers the prayer.

Should women use prayer shawl?

My pastor's wife says that women should always cover their heads while praying. She quoted 1 Cor 11:6 . At the same time, she asked all the women in our church to buy prayer shawls to use while praying. She also said that we will get visions while using this shawl. But I am not getting any visions. Is something wrong with me?

Answer :

Your pastor's wife has used 1 Cor 11:6. Let us first see the verse.

If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 1 Cor 11:6

There is a big debate going on to find whether a woman should cover her head or not. On the other side, Christian businessmen have found this verse to be a great opportunity to sell prayer shawls.

Shawls are sold to women with the announcement - " Prophetic shawl- The shawl that helps women to prophecy". Many women have fallen victims to this business deal.

Note: The prayer shawl is costly compared to the prayer oil and the target audience is only women. So this business is adopted only by specialists who have the knack of luring naive women.

The prayer shawl has no power. The one who answers the prayer has the power. The visions are given by him and not the prayer shawl. Don't fall into such traps.

Can I pierce my ears?

My Pastor tells me that I should not pierce my ears. He quotes Deu 19:28 and says that God hates piercing our ears. But I have my ears pierced and I wear earrings. Now should I remove the ear rings and follow what my pastor says?

Answer:

Your pastor is totally wrong. The verse he quotes talks about piercing for the dead and also piercing the ears of slaves. Bible never tells us that one should not pierce the ears or one should not adorn jewellery.

The problem lies in how Pastors link 1 Timothy 2:9 with Deu 19:28

1 Timothy 2:9 says this " Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire"

1 Timothy 2:9 is not at all saying that women should not wear jewellery. It is actually telling what should be the priority.

There are some denominations that give importance to external looks. Some denominations use a couple of verses according to their own understanding and say that wearing jewels is wrong. It is also an effort by many pastors and teachers to stop excessive tattoos and excessive body piercing which is becoming a trend.

What ever you do, do it for the glory of God.

I once heard a Christian preacher say that the prayers offered in his prayer tower are answered by God. He quoted the following verse.  "Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place - 2 Chronicles 7:15 ". I called the prayer warrior in the prayer tower and prayed for a need. My prayers are not answered.  So is the Christian preacher wrong ?

Answer:

The above verse is now used for all building projects. Some preacher will quote 2 Chronicles 7:15 and say that God told him to build a prayer tower and God also told him to collect money for building this prayer tower.

Some of the prayer tower constructors build the prayer towers by bribing the approvers. It is a great business for the building contractors also.

Remember! The tower of Babel was also built by human efforts.

Note : God does answer prayers of people praying in the prayer tower. God also answer prayers of people who pray in the desert. The place doesn't matter to God. The heart that prays to God is what that matters.
